Pregnant with Twins!!

A friend of mine at work just told me yesterday that she's pregnant for the 2nd time and just found out that IT'S TWINS!! She is going to have fraternal twin boys, and they are due in February. However she's already preparing herself for the fact that they may very well arrive in January since twins often come early. She has a older son - just like me- but her first child will be only 2 years old when the twins arrive. Three boys; age 2 and newborn, newborn - now that's a handful. She has family that will come to help out for awhile, but they don't live in town and "they have their own lives" as she puts it. So her an her husband are understandably a bit overwhelmed with this challange they will be facing over the next year. She asked me for some helpful hints or advice and I told her I would be happy to help!!

When we started the http://www.TwinzGear.com/ site, that's exactly what we wanted to do. We had a mission to return the help and kindness that was extended to us when we were expecting and juggling our three young boys. Now, I'm thrilled to be able to pass along a bit of our experience and I guess you could call it advice.

First, get the book "Mothering Twins: From Hearing the News to Beyond the Terrible Twos" This is a GREAT book and was the first one I read after hearing the news that I was going to have twins. In fact it was given to me as a gift from another twins mom. It was the perfect gift for an expectant twins mom and is definitely a TwinzGear "GREAT GEAR" pick.

I particularly liked how it very clearly broke down all the various things that we might expect if our boys came early. It was a great way to prepare ourselves for what turned out to be a reality for our family.

When my husband and I found out we were going to have twins, we were immediately overwhelmed with the out pouring of help and support we got from our friends, neighbors and family. We also quickly learned that there's quite a community of twins families, and that's what we'd like to share here on our blog. The day to day stories and joys from family life with twins.
